Change Of Prosthesis

In the event of capsular contracture, aging of the prosthesis, rupture or an unsatisfactory result, a prosthesis replacement will be necessary.

WHAT DOES THIS SURGERY INVOLVE?

The procedure involves removing the existing breast implants and placing new ones, tailored to the patient’s needs and preferences.

The surgery is performed under general anesthesia and typically requires an overnight hospital stay to ensure a safe and monitored recovery.

After surgery, a bandage is applied and removed after 48 hours. It is then replaced with a wireless post-surgical bra, which should be worn for approximately one month to promote proper recovery.

Step 1 — Removal of previous prostheses

First, the specialist carefully removes the existing breast implants. This step allows for an assessment of the breast tissue and the identification of any problems such as capsular contracture or implant wear.

Step 2 — Preparation of Breast Tissue

After the implants are removed, the capsule and breast tissue are checked to ensure that the area is properly prepared before placing the new prostheses.

Step 3 — Placement of the New Prostheses

The new breast implants are placed, previously selected according to the patient's needs and preferences, seeking to improve the shape, volume and harmony of the breast.

Step 4 — Recovery and Postoperative Care

After surgery, a bandage is applied, which is removed after 48 hours and replaced with a wireless post-surgical bra. Recovery is gradual, and wearing the bra for approximately one month helps ensure optimal results.
